I found CrossFit a few years ago, when I first got sober after years of isolation and depression. I was in awful shape, with no athletic background, but was drawn to the community that CrossFit provided. I was nervous, and shy, but I wanted to make a change in my life for the better, and I knew I needed help and encouragement to do it. I fell in love by my very first WOD. It didn't matter that I was using different weights and going slower than everyone else, we were all in this together, and I was hooked. I was constantly surprising myself with how quickly I was improving, and before I knew it I was signing up for competitions like Atlas Blarney Stone, Girls Gone RX, Pound For Pound, and even some Olympic Lifting meets. When I'm not doing CrossFit I am probably rock climbing, or running up the stairs at Red Rocks or the Manitou Incline.
I am constantly inspired by the driven, hard-working individuals at CrossFit Elevation, the joy I feel getting to see people meet and exceed their goals is second to none.
