It's that time of year again- that time of year when all of our clients are reminded that we offer complementary nutrition counseling. The time of year when our athletes start lifting heavier, looking leaner, and engaging with their cohorts more. That's right, it's time for another nutrition challenge!

Several times a year, CrossFit Elevation's coaches and athletes band together to participate in some sort of nutrition-based challenge/contest. During each round the diet and details vary but the overall goal remains the same- become a healthier athlete by examining and changing the way we fuel our bodies. For this spring's challenge, we're tackling the sugar monster, with the help of Diane Sanfilippo of Balanced Bites. Diane's 21 Day Sugar Detox book and program provide an effective, easy-to-follow foundation for this challenge. Take a look at Diane's website for all of the details- http://balancedbites.com/21dsd. This 21-DSD challenge will be different than our normal nutrition challenges- most notably, it is significantly shorter. At just 3 weeks, it's the shortest challenge we've ever run. The reason for this is simple- we want you to succeed, to stick with it. This isn't some crash diet, nor is it an overwhelming "for forever" lifestyle change that you're desperately trying to make while under the pressure of a contest. It's a sensible way to naturally cleanse your body and move it towards working optimally. As with all of our nutrition challenges, the Detox will have an incredible amount of supports and resources. In fact, we'll be doing the challenge from February 3rd- February 23rd, to coincide with the official 21-DSD Facebook support group and forums run by Diane's team.
