How long have you been at CrossFit Elevation? About a year and a half
How did you get started? My husband (Mike) formerly owned a coffee shop up the street (what is now MMM… Coffee). Before selling, he got to know a lot of the members from Crossfit Elevation so we decided to give it a try. We also desperately needed to get in shape!
Favorite workout? Anything with box jumps, rowing, or running – endurance is more my thing than heavy weight.
Least favorite workout? Anything with burpees or overhead movements (push-press, snatch, etc.)
Your biggest accomplishment? 500m row in 1:57 and FINALLY getting handstand holds!
The hardest thing you've learned/still learning? My limitations/current skills are not permanent – I am better, faster, and stronger than I was when I started and I will continuously become better, faster, and stronger! I just have to keep my frustration in check and not get discouraged.
Your favorite nutritional tip? Try your best, allow yourself to be human, and don’t overthink it.
Favorite healthy recipe or meal? Unsweetened apple chips and almond butter – yum!!
Most helpful recovery tip? Rest when you need to rest – pushing yourself/your body past the point of a healthy challenge will only cause damage in the long run. I learned this the hard way when training for long distance running.
